Thread: Best way to create a smooth slow-motion in After Effect with 25 fps

Default Best way to create a smooth slow-motion in After Effect with 25 fps

I need in After Effect create a good slow-motion sequence. However, the existing videos have a fps of 25, which presents a problem since I need to slow it down to about 25% of normal speed for max impact. Is there any way to "cheat" and in some way get around this, I do not want the slow-mo to become "sluggish" which is does if I only Time-stretch it to 400%.

    Any tips or general advise?

Enable time remapping on your layer and you can keyframe the speed. Test your output using frame blend and repeat frames at firstg for speed and then do a final test/render using pixel motion setting. The best you'll get unless you go the full monty and buy something like Twixtor Pro.
