    Default editing video

I can capture video from my dv camcorder o.k, using Windows movie maker and Nero vision express, when I try to edit the video using either program they freeze (not responding). I have two 80g h/drives (c & g) 512m ram, the other sections in Nero work alright i.e burning & express.
Any help on this matter please.

About the only thing I can think of would be the DV file format from your camera is what is called 'Type I' and your editing software requires it to be 'Type II'.

I've used this conversion program with success, but it apears to have a 4gB file size limit, so that means it wouldn't work on DV files with more than about 15 minutes playing time.
