Thread: Vegas Film Look Attempts

    Default Vegas Film Look Attempts

When I say film look I mean "non consumer blah blah blah all you anal people"

With that aside, here's some current work. Always looks so dark people think I just darkened it. It's kind of a before and after no clips are repeated but the transitions are a little shifty because of the fact I had to move around the picture when making the anamorphic crop.

    Color Curves "S shape"
Color Corrector "Studio RGB to Computer RGB" (both primary & secondary)
Soft Contrast (all to 0, using vignette only)
    EXACT 2.39:1 anamorphic crop

Good premise. If you can, get some better test footage though, as you'll notice an even bigger difference in daylight (Also, not sure if this belongs in Special FX or not?)

This is footage that needs to be used eventually. No special FX read the description of the video its Vegas's settings.

Isn't there a free magic bullet plugin you can use for vegas?

Not for the 64bit version, and I think their software is a little bit outdated not sure what the last release was.

Well thank you, now if I can only get the darkness out. Maybe its because of the color corrector presets I use. I'm not sure how the Studio RGB to Computer RGB is going to look on a range of TV's though.

    Question

So whats all this hype about Adobe After Effects? And using it paired with Vegas wouldn't that technically be considered a double render? Quality loss? Is there really things you can't do to achieve a film look in Vegas that you can in After Effects?
