Default New to AVCHD - which editing package?

    Hi all,
I found this place after a search online and I wonder if any of you guys can help?

I have a MiniDV canon MVX250i and a copy of Pinnacle Studio 9.4 to edit it all down. The MVX is going on ebay soon as I have decided to go HD and have recently got a Panasonic SD10 HD camcorder. That just leaves me the decision of which editing package to get...

I quite like Studio and I know my way around. I was considering Studio 14 HD but is there anything better / faster / less prone to crashing for a reasonable cost (less than 100)?

I can use the software on one of two PCs. One is a Pentium 4 2.66GHz machine with 512MB and the other is a Core 2 Duo 2.0GHz laptop with 4GB.

    Any help would be appreciated.

    Many thanks,
    Lee

    Hi

Have a look at the latest Corel Pro X3, they seem to have cleaned up the glitches it had and made a couple of extra presets to send your video's to Youtube and Vimeo in HD.

PS and check out it's "Smart Proxy" for editing with slower computers.

Many thanks Bryan. I will give that a look.
I have been told that quite a few packages offer a demo download. I'm trying to make a short list and then I'll try some first I think.
    Cheers

    Hi Lee,

Yes Corel Pro X3 do a fully working demo, I was talking to a friend in Cananda who said it's getting some good reviews.

Dont tuch pinnacle studio 14 I have had nothing but problems with a still picture in the pre view window. Pinnacl have given up and suggest that I take the software back for a refund.
Studio 12 works better and you should get it a lot cheaper than studio 14
