Default Anyone want to add a wedding video to their portfolio

We would love to have a wedding videographer for our daughters wedding but don't have a budget for one. The wedding is in December 2010 in Basingstoke, Hampshire. If you interested in this opportunity and would like to video our wedding please let me know.

You must find room in your budget for one.... a video conveys so much more than a still photographer can ever hope to capture. It still surprises me that folk don't attach more importance to video.

One word of warning - if you don't pay - don't expect too much. Filming weddings is a fine art and one that videographers can spend a long time perfecting. Someone doing it super cheap / free almost certainly won't have the equipment or experience to capture the day as it should be.

    Sound advice Andy........

But not on the still photographer bit lol think you being a bit controversial there....

I think its down to personal opinion, but here is another debate for another thread, but then this then goes beyond this forum...

I personally would prefer stills over video....but I think these days its cool to have both..
If its one over the other for me stills would win.

I think that still have alot of hidden meaning and the image makes you think.

where video is very much a consumer event; as in you veg in front of it and let the story unfold.
nothing in video is left to you you just receive whats in front of you.

Video you just accept what presented; with no dialog with other people, if you do it spoils it for others and you can miss bits

Photographs are are truly portable; I think these days I could lose that argument
and much more interactive. As in lets take a quick look at the pics. Video is much more of an event, and shows reality very well, we may wish to forget some of that...

Plus on the darkside; photographs are more fun when the relationship ends. Perhaps I shouldn't go into that. Mind due if Ya! did a great job, might get a repeat booking

I can see that a good wedding video might be watched more frequently than the photo album comes out, however....

My wife and I have our wedding photo on our wall.
My father has wedding photos of all of his children on his sideboard.

I suspect this is the same throughout the land.

Saying that though Tim; is a very good point...

With these modern LCD photo Frames; you'll be able to put clips on there.

But am not sure if that would be disturbing in some way, kinda a weird thought. Looking around the room and the photo frame is moving......
