Thread: transfer options..

    Default transfer options..

ok, stupid question probably, but i bought a DV cam today, sony mv750i..
it's good enough for my use..

it has USB, firewire and s-video connections..

is there any way of transferring video, without using the firewire connection?

...cause i dont have firewire on my laptop.. yes, i know firewire cards are cheap, but im just wondering...

s-video is only outgoing signals? or is there a way/software to transfer it via s-video?

There is, but this will be at a lower quality. Get a firewire card - for the price, it's REALLY worth it.

Get a firewire card. Do it.

It really, really is the only sensible way to sort it out. You NEED one.

    Get Firewire!
COMPAQ something or other with 500Gb Boot Disk, 1Tb external Firewire Disk, 4Gb Memory and a super duper sound card, 19" TFT Monitor etc etc etc
    Sony TRV33e : Sony TRV310e : Canon XM2
Sony Vegas Studio editions to v11

You can just whack in your USB cable and transfer but trust me, you dont want to do that. I did it once and almost cried when I saw the quality. I flew out of my chair and pratically legged it all the way to the store to get a firewire card!!!
