    Default Call me psychic

As predicted, one day into the "White Room" being opened and it lasted precisely ONE POST before someone had to post how wonderful Macs are and slag off PCs.

What Me!!! what have I done now????? Quote Me !!! I think I know the post but not quite sure...

Hey! let it be known... I LOVE! both Camps.. I love both the Mac's & PC's.

I use a PC, Just that my comments were for people you intend to use software that is not designed for their system.... I.E. trying to fit a square object through a round hole....

Use the right tool for the job.......

Hey!!! not to get upitty, Macs were designed for the graphics industry, had graphics at the heart of the OS. Mac do an excellent job in this area, a lot of the decent software was initially designed for Macs. Then migrated to PC, however the PC has come on leaps and bounds in this area, over the years. Bill Gates stealing idea's that have been in other OS's for years, and flag shipping it as their own; has Nothing! to do with it.

Saying that though; Steve Jobs did steal the mouse off Xerox!!!! And the point an click thing, just that Xerox didn't know what to do with it, lol their lost.... and Mac users gain. Then went on to be used on the PC, I am only quoting history.....

Its just a matter of choosing your tool, the right one for you. Its not what you got, its what you do with it that counts. (Praise to Shrimpfarmer, who demostrates this).

Its all to do with the person using the tool, not the tool itself.

    .................................................. .................................................. ........

If you don't want to read about Macs, you don't have to come here. Otherwise it's a bit like walking into a signposted and fenced off nudist camp and then complaining that everyone's naked!

This is also an appeal to Mac owners... Those who own Macs know what they're like, we don't need to keep going on about it like born-again christians or ex-smokers and I would ask you not to bait the PC users by posting comments which are designed purely to upset them.

If you want to have a Mac vs. PC arguement, please go to another forum and do it there. This forum is for video editors, film and videomakers. There are more than enough computer forums which thrive on childish online fights. Let's not start all that shit here.

Moderators will delete any inflamatory comments and the poster will be banned.

Are you serious; are you having a beef at THAT?

OMG......[shock] Am laughing my stocks OFF!!!! Theres me thinking people have a sense of humour on here. Come on a bit of jesting, nevers harm anyone, Does It........... MMMmmm

The problem is that it's very, very easy for a forum to slip into a childish PC vs. Mac squabble. This isn't going to happen here and so we're jumping on it before it starts. Talking about stinky PCs and Mac users being "grown up" and "having balls" is just the sort of language which gets the pubescents enraged and is unnecessary.

    Simples.

    Yep.
It was my (failed as it turns out) attempt at a good humoured warning shot across the bows intended to dissuade people from starting a "my willy is better than your willy" debate, exactly as Gaffer suggests.

    Simples.

Use a TOOL for what its designed for!

These days technically speaking; nothing much separates the MAC and the PC....
The hardware is almost identical, since the Mac moved from the Motorola CPU to the Intel CPU.
The real difference is the software used on these platforms; the Mac OS with a few minor changes could operate on the PC. Therefore the software would work as well.

So its really a software issue not hardware; the software is a true separator......

The Mac was designed for designers, for the graphics's industry, more detail and attention has been placed on the Mac than the PC. Therefore software written with designers in mind, chose the Mac platform, for development. These are often specialist and complex software designed for professionals. And take quite some time to learn properly to get the best use out of the software.

Because this was at the heart of the Mac as we know it and had designers in mind, thats why the Mac is BIG in design circles.

The PC was never designed to be used in this way; instead the PC design was a number cruncher. The PC has to be all things to all people, and vastly out weighs the available software on the market compared to the MAC. The popularity of people wanting to use designing software on the PC has risen, there for many software designers have chosen to migrate/design software for the PC. Complexity ranges from simple to complex and a lot of the popular software designed for the Mac is now available for the PC.

Sadly not all; which is ashame, as it's the TOOL of the job which is important not the hardware that uses it.

When I was jesting with the poster; having a light hearted, jovial acknowledgement of the poster transcending. From one tool to another, where their needs are met more sufficiently for them. Was merely an acknowledge for them as to the complexity of the software there are using. This wasn't a consumer grade product, dummied down for the consumer market, the product is of PROFESSIONAL grade, with that product in question; it is quite complex in the usage of that product/software.

So Yes; if you acknowledge, freedom of speech and want people to talk to each another as they would in real life. Exchanging good humor and banter. I have said nothing that I wouldn't say in real life. To the poster in question; to my knowledge this post hasn't offend anyone.

When I use the term "grown up" and "having balls" it's merely a reflection on the complexity of the software to be used, than the hardware. I am not in the wrong for what I said. I hope that the people who use this forum are of GOOD humor, and understand real life.

As for the pubescent as you put it, its not about enraging them; I agree that could lead too a debate with the misinterpretation of my post . Surly its up to us; as a community not to be rattled by this behavior and pretend that this sort of thing never happens. Rather address the issue as it occurs, I believe this forum to be of EDUCATION then censorship. Lets educate than ridicule, explain the pro's and cons, make people think. Its not about what's better or who's better, more about your personal achievements and your goals. Within the confines of our area of discussion; whats more important is your finished results, not how you got there and what you used.

Its the imagination of the individual that matters, not the TOOL.....

This is my opinion and may not be expressed by others.

Yeah Tim; I understood your post, as you meant it, although after cross reference with another post led me to my comments.

May be a PM would have been better.....

Rebal it was just friendly banter; aimed at you no one else, in a public environment.

I can acknowledge where Gaffer is coming from, in my opinion we should rise to education, not censorship.

If we can't talk normally as we would in real life, having to alter everything we type, as not to offend people. I agree use of bad language is not acceptable. What are we as a society if we can't express ourselves.

MY intension was not to create what is better Mac vs PC debate, Personally I couldn't give a monkeys. As a lot of this is down to personal choice and affordability. No one even started a What vs who debate and just assumed it could happen. This person could be speaking out of experience, but surly tackle it as it happens, not before. Even though my post happened, no reaction what so ever from prepubescents, ever occured.
