    Default text effect

    Hi everyone,
I have been using this forum for quite some time to gather tips and hints on how to effectively use SV and find all your posts very usefull. Thanks everyone.

At this moment, I am trying to replicate a text effect on Vegas such as the one you can find here...
Before posting I tried looking on the forum for a previous post but did not manage to find a suitable one.
Can anybody direct me tell me how I can acheive this effect or guide me to a tutorial?
    Thanks in advance.

I think there are a few different ways of doing this. I'll give you one.
Once you have created the text media.
Make a copy, past it about the original on a new time line.
Use the Pan/Crop tool with key frames to enlarge and move to it from left to right.
Reduce the opacity to your liking.
Put another copy of the original text media about that.
Use the Pan/Crop tool with key frames to enlarge and move to it from right to left
Reduce the opacity to your liking.

    I think this should work.

You could also use the Pro Text Titler to do the sizing and motion but that's far more complicated to explain. That's why I gave you the first option.

    Good luck.

Shite or not, it's not a bad way to start learning about the Pand and Crop and Track Motion Tools.

Carisma: When you've tried it MBs way you might like to try it this way.
Instead of making copies of the text and zooming in, create new text media in a larger font.
Use track motion to move the text left & right.

Just a different way of skinning the cat.

I understand the idea is to do it in Vegas, however the original looks like one of the standard presets in Windows Moviemaker.

Which would add some weight to Vertovian's opinion
