    Hi Ricky D

I really enjoyed your animation and I think the movie works very well indeed. It has a pleasing visual style and the constant stream of facts keeps it moving along nicely. The music is a good match to the story also. My only real gripe is the rather abrupt ending.

I will limit my comments to the first video as otherwise posts become confusing. Feel free to post the 2nd one in its own thread though.

The visuals go well with the facts and the music Carrie's it along at a nice pace.

    A good fun video.

So why would men fart 17 times a day and women only 9 ? We all have the same digestive system. I'm sure I do it more than that.

Like Shrimpy said it does end a little bit abruptly.

Agree with what's said above. The ending would not appear anything like as abrupt if ythe music finished properly rather than on the dominant 7th.

Thats right Tim you took the dominant 7th right out of my mouth What is a dominant 7th by the way, the school I went to didn't really cover the dominants or maybe they did and I was having a fag.

It is a 7th chord with its root on the dominant of the key you're in.

    No?

OK. If you're in the key of C major. The "home" chord (or "tonic") is C major - your tune will nearly always end on a C major chord. The dominant chord in the key of C is G which sort of naturally leads onto C. If we add the 7th to the Gmajor chord (the nore F) we get a G7 chord. This is known as the dominant 7th.

This chord really, really, really, very, very strongly wants to "resolve" to the "home" chord of C major.

There's a story that Mozart had gone to bed one night waiting for sleep to arrive. Mrs Mozart was tinkling about on the piano downstairs and finished on a dominant 7th chord. Mozart couldn't stand this and simply had to get up, go downstairs and play a chord based on the tonic.

So - the video we see ends on a dominant 7th chord and this adds to the abruptness as, to western ears at least, we expect resolution which we don't get.

Nope I certainly don't remember any of my teachers covering any of that so thank you for filling that in for me. Now I know why all those drunks singing in the cells sounded so awful. There was not a C major amongst them. Had I known I would have sent one of my officers to arrest one.

Initially the rough cutouts grated, but as the vid went on I learned to live with them.
As with the above comments, I agree that the music was ideal but ended arupty, but there again I'm not one to comment on music. My Music Teacher hated me, but I am tone deaf!

I have six honest, serving men. They taught me all I knew.
