Thread: Sony Vegas on E bay

  1. Default Sony Vegas on E bay

Just browsing round E-Bay and saw sellers advertising Sony Vegas Pro (9) at less than 65.00.
Thats less than I paid for Platinum!

Interesting. I can't see anything. Care to share a link?
Or are you actually looking at Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Pro Pack which is NOT the same thing at all?

Ah yes, I was looking at "Pro Pack" and just assumed it was one and the same as "Vegas Pro".

    Whats Pro Pack then?

just answered my own question by checking the Sony website.

It was still cheaper than I paid for (the less featured) Platinum version though.

I was just about to ask the very same question?! I'm still not sure of the answer though... When people on this forum are talking about Vegas Pro 9 are they referring to the 500+ one?

I only ask as I may have just screwed myself out of a good deal when buying a new camera...

    Yes.
Sony's marketing department have a lot to anwer for.

In recent years the "full" version was just called Viegas and the consumer version Vegas Movie Studio.(VMS)

This led to some confusion when people who had VMS either said incorrectly or thought they had the full version (the said they had Vegas).

So, to further distinguish the products, Sony renamed Vegas (full version) to Vegas Pro.

    Fine.

And then they released a variant of Vegas Movie Studio called Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Pro Pack. How ****** stupid is that!!!!!

What would you suggest I use with a Sony HVR V1E? I'll be using it for weddings and corporate vids...
