Thread: Vegas wont render videos in any format

Default Vegas wont render videos in any format

I'm trying to render a project and every time I attempt to the progress dialog box comes up and the estimated time climbs up, but the progress stays at 0% (the highest I let it get to was 11 day estimated time for a 2 min 3mbps video), it also doesn't effect my cpu usage at all.

I can save videos just fine using Camtasia Studio but I prefer vegas for editing.

    I'm running 64-bit Windows 7 on a AMD Athlon(tm) II X2 215 Processor (2 CPUs), ~2.7GHz
3072MB RAM directx 11, and I have 430GB space left on my HD.

I used sony vegas just fine on my old computer (intel pentium 4 3.2ghz single core, windows xp 2gb ram) just fine without any issues.

I have no idea whats causing this and I haven't seen anyone else with the same problem.

    So, what have you tried?

    Can you render another project?
If so, cut this one in half and try rendering each half separately. There may just be a rogue clip in there (or even a corruption of your veg file)

What is the source material (format, codec etc)?
    What are your project settings?
What are you trying to render as? What template/settings?
Will it render to a different format?

Come to that, what version of Vegas (PRECISE version - from Help | About)

    I'm using Vegas Pro Version 9.0 (Build 562) 64-bit
Source material is uncompressed game footage shot with fraps @ 60FPS

I just recorded a completely new clip and it looks like it rendered it just fine so I guess I have a bad file somewhere, I'm going to redo it and see if it works

Sounds likely. Let us know how it goes.
