Thread: Screen capture to camcorder?

  1. Default Screen capture to camcorder?

Not really a problem, but a request for info.

The majority of screen capture programs tend to use a good chunk of your cpu power. Hence, the smoothness in capture becomes jerky especially when your screen is running at a good fps. Ideally, to save all your cpu power, it is best to capture from a peripheral device. However it seems that the majority of modern camcorders do not have a digital video input.
Does anyone know of a camcorder or a device dedicated to screen capture with good quality? Ideally, I would like to go via firewire from my graphics card directly to the recording device.

  2. Default

So if you would like to record a game, a game recorder like Fraps or Gamecam is nice.
If you would like to record some software tutorials, I think screen recorder like DemoCreator is great.
