Thread: Scenes last frame is from next scene

Default Scenes last frame is from next scene

I capture scenes (HDV m2t) from my Sony HDR-HC9 camcorder with Sony Vegas 9. Every scenes last frame is from next scenes first frame. Here is sample picture, where two upper frames belong to scene 1 and lower frame to scene 2. There is also at the bottom of the (scene 1) last frame a strip of scene 1 real frame.

Click the picture and do not worry about Finnish texts, look the picture.

If I capture scenes with Sonys Handycam-software, everything works perfectly. Can someone advice me, what is it about.

Does no one have not noticed such a problem?

I guess the lack of replies would mean no one knows what is causing this. Have you tried separating the clips on the time line and putting them together again making sure they are not overlapping. I'm sure you've already tried that I just can't think what else it could be unless you have some kind of strange transition on the track !

This is normal with Vegas HDV capture. It's a pain in the backside! Something to do with long GOP MPEG2 I believe. If the handycam software captures scenes cleanly, why not just use that? In fact, I've been looking for an application that can capture m2t cleanly myself. Is it available on download anywhere?

Yes, I use that software. Check this link for the software Sony eSupport - HDR-SR7 - Software Updates & Drivers

Seems like it's for Sony cams only - I use Canon. Thanks for the link anyway.
