I've been messing about with subtitles in Encore a bit, the idea is for a slideshow with optional captions, which I can do pretty well, but I want to try and be a bit more creative.

So, does anyone know what kind of subtitle frame-rate the average set-top DVD player can handle (for simple animations, counters, scrolling text, bouncing karaoke indicators etc.)?

I've read a few posts on the Adobe Forum and they say that it differs between players, but there must be a rate thats pretty well accepted all round, anyone experimented with this?

I guess the only way to know is to make a few samples and play them back, just wondered if anyone had already done this?

thanks if you can help. btw I'll be playing the dvd back on an Xbox at the mo' if that helps.
