Default Problems viewing/converting a video

I wasn't sure where to post this but hopefully I have the right place. So, I have this .avi video obtained from a surveillance system that I copied to my flash drive. It was originally in another format but the program had a AVI converter built into it. It plays fine on the Windows Media Player in the initial computer both from the C: drive and from my flash drive. But when I load it from the flashdrive onto any other computer it wont work. It either has no video at all or when it plays it looks like the video was divided into many bars and these were reshuffled randomly (see attached pic). I tried converting it into many different formats but I either get no result, a corrupted file, or the same bar-reshuffling problem.

So I've tried updating and downloading all kinds of codec packs, media players and converters but to no avail. Nothing seems to work.

If anyone can help me with my problem, that would be great!

GSpot says:

Video
-Codec: h263 NAme: H.263
-Status: Codec(s) are installed

-pic (w x 320x240
-sar 1.333 (4:3) -par 1 (1:1) dar 1.333 (4:3)

That is everything that may be pertinent. But just in case I have attached a ss of the Gspot.

From what I can gleam from the info you have provided I don't understand why it won't play in Quicktime. As Gspot says you have the codec and what seems like a codec problem I'm sorry but I'm stumped.

I can only recommend that you go back to the original computer and not convert the files to see if that works.
