    Default Video Capture Help

I'm brand new to the movie making world. I recently bought a 'Sony DCR - TRV265E'. Its a Digital 8 Handycam.
It came with a USB wire and some awful software to connect to. This led me to think the USB would suffice, but when I tried to capture the video in 'Adobe Premiere Pro' it said 'Capture Device Offline'. It took a while but I eventually realised that I may need more than just a USB (I told you I was new to all this!).
The manual only talks about USB connections with a very short reference to It doesn't mention Firewire at all. If anyone could let me know what it is I need I'd appreciate it. My budget is quite low right now so a good, cheap product will suit me perfectly.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Nick,

i-Link is sony's name for firewire (also known as IEEE1394) so if it has an i-link connection, you should be able to stick it into a firewire port on your PC and run it off like that.

    Hi Nick,
Sony usually doesn't include a FireWire cable if the camera has USB capabilities. It is a diferent cable and a diferent port on your camera and PC. They are about $30.00 at Best Buy.
