Default A bit of a challenge!

    Hi,

I have a shot of a car driving up a road at quite a slow speed. Is it possible using premiere pro or after effects 5.5 to make the shot black and white but keep only the car colour? I realise that this is probably quite an advanced effect but thought I would ask anyway!

    Thanks

I don't know if this would work, but maybe place a matte on the car, apply to BW effect to everything but car, then use transform filter/keyframing to make sure the matte stays with the car as it moves?

in After effects there's something called "leave colour", it's in the Stylize menu I think. You could try fiddling with this effect to leave just the cars colour, although it would be hard if it's Blue or green and there's sky/grass in the shot too.

Only real way to do this accurately is to rotoscope the frames in After Effects using either an animated mask or vector paint matte.
