Default Scrolling text wrecked when converted to MP4

    Hi
I've put some scrolling text on the end of a film using FCP 5. Looks great but when I convert to MP4 it's a total disaster - text is really raggedy looking. Other still text looks fine.
    Can anyone help?
    thanks!

Did you put a lot of compression on the file? Try and set the data rate to a much higher level and try using a better and larger typeface. Serif fonts with thin strokes don't work well for display, try a Sans Serif or a Block font that has a much heavier appearance.

Hi Nikosony- thanks for the help. Unfortunately, neither of those things would seem to be the problem. The data rate was very high at 4096 and the font was a sans serif: lucida grande.

    Any other ideas much appreciated!

    thanks

Is the mp4 a standard definition video or is it high definition video? Even if it is standard defintion, I've used up to double the amount you quote. As far as I can remember a mpeg2 for a standard dvd to watch at home is around 7 to 8 megabits, so 4096 does seem to me to be quite low. I used FCP about 4 years ago and can't remember what the settings are but how long is your video and what are you outputting to, the web or dvd?
