Thread: Sony with 2500 to spend - V1E or Z1E?

  1. Default Sony with 2500 to spend - V1E or Z1E?

    Hi,

I am looking to buy a second camera to back up my nice (but a bit bulky) Sony HD1000e. I have a budget of 2,500 and ideally would like to stick with Sony as this is what I know best.

However, I am torn between buying a new Sony V1E or going for a secondhand Z1E for around the same price. I had my heart set on the V1E but then someone I spoke to suggested I go for the Canon XH1A but I don't know anything at all about this camera and I've seen the used Z1E available in a couple of places so hence, I'm left a bit confused.

Usage wise, I will be using the camera with my HD4000 Glidecam on occasion to shoot corporate stuff and also I want to get out and start shooting some independent films for my own leisure.

Please can anyone with experience of any of the these cameras help me to decide which I should go for!!??

    Thanks

Surely someone out there has experience with at least one of these cams?

from what i hear the Z1E will give a better picture quality.

i think i read it in a review for the Panasonic HMC150.

i'm sorry but that is literally all i know about the two.
