    Default Moving up to HD

I have been thinking about moving up to HD to shoot my first short film. I have been using a Panasonic GS200 for family home movies but now I've been bitten by the "Movie Bug" I wanted to know what the different HD formats mean ie: DVCPRO HD, DVCPRO 50, HD DV etc.

I have been using Pinnacle Studio for editing but don't think it's a good idea to continue down this route even with the new release of Studio HD v14. Do I have to look out for editing software that can deal with P2 cards or do I just copy the files onto my hard disk like you would a normal SD memory card ?

Sorry if this is a dumb question. It seems like when ever I want to upgrade computers or similar technology I have to learn a whole new language to be able to understand it. This is not easy at my age !

I think I posted this in the wrong forum it would be better in the HD forum. Mods can delete if they wish.
