Default Dedicated Video Editing Software for Weddings

    Hi All,

Just saw a new editing hw/sw at a friend's wedding. Although it is competitively priced, it has some cool features & effects. The most amazing being, you can edit videos real time, and record at the same time !!

you can check out the product at Products-Monarch World

oh yes... and the product is called Stallion.

    cheers,
    Nathan

    Hi Nathan

Interesting but it seems to be very outdated??? It only handles SD inputs ??? No HDMI or component inputs at all????

Most of us shoot on Hi Def now ??? Seems to be a sorta clone of the Casablanca system but it might be nice for SDE's at the wedding if you happen to still shoot live with a multi-cam system and can afford to have a vision mixer operator.

Surely the Casablanca crowd must have updated the hardware for HD by now?? If they haven't then I doubt whether they will get many sales.

I looked at the system years ago as my mate in Florida used one but they are pretty pricey and if the system goes down you have to send it to a dealer as the "PC" is all part of the system and, of course, they have their own software that you have to use!!!

The idea was great having a totally dedicated box that you feed in fooatge one end and it spits out DVD's at the other but when it was released it WAS a lot more powerful than the average homeowner's PC but the situation would be reversed now with PC's being so cheap!!

It could never match the flexibility and support either a Windows PC or Mac has at present. The ability of chop and change as you please is great whereas having a sealed box with limited upgrade options is very restrictive.
