So I'm a first-time Sony Vegas user, working on the free trial of Vegas Pro 9.0 to see whether I like it. I poked around until I figured out enough to put together a movie project. It's got an audio component (.m4a) and about 30-something pieces of subclip video that began as .flv files. Both the video and audio work perfectly inside Vegas, and have played flawlessly on the preview window.
Unfortunately, now that I've finished making my video, I'm having trouble rendering. I've tried rendering to several different file types (mpg4, quicktime, .mpg, .wmv, and more) and opening them in three different programs (Windows Media Player, Quicktime, and VLC player) and every single time that I try to open them, it doesn't work. It's just a square of nothing.
Am I doing something wrong? How can I render my video so that I can actually use it?
Thanks for any help!
**EDIT** I figured out what was wrong! Don't spend time trying to figure it out. It was a stupid newbie mistake. I wasn't selecting the video when I rendered it - I thought that it was like save where it would automatically do the whole thing.
