Default Quality Gone When uploading to Premier??? HELP

So i been using my canon Gl2 and when played back on the camera the footage looks clear and bright and good quality but then when uploaded into premier it gets ugly colorless and not 100% clear and good quality looking.

What does anyone suggest is going on. Or is there a better way to upload the footage

how are you transferring fro the GL2 to your PC? You need to transfer via firewire as this is a Dv camera.

are your monitor(s) set up correctly? if you have an nvidia graphics card you can callobrate any monitor via the nVidia Control panel. for ati cards i'm not sure if you can do this.

it sound like something isn't setup right. it's unlikely the screen on the camera will be setup wrong but the view finder should give you the best picture.

if you find that youre computer screen(s) are setr up correctly then the footage could be shot without enough exposure so in that case you can try color correcting it.

do you have a video snapshot you can upload so we can see for ourselves?
