I have an XM2 (the PAL equivalent of the GL2) and am 99.9999% certain that one of the first bits of filming I did (a country scene) I used the headphones and listened to the sound. I just checked the manual and it mentions using the headphones for playback and so now you have me doubting myself.

I mainly film Kite boarding now and so don't often use the sound (as it's pretty much always dubbed to music). I will probably try this out later but as I say, I am so sure I used the headphones when recording a couple of summers ago

I always use the headphones whilst recording, then you don't go filming all of your scenes and playing it back.

Just to confirm. Spoken to a friend of mine who uses an XM2 too and you can use the headphones while filming.
