    Default 1080i Camera Always Good?

is a 1080i camera always a good camera?

i got my hands on an hd canon xh a1 which states it shoots at 1080i, i asked somebody about the camera but he didn't know it, and just said if it's 1080i it's always a great camera.

You also need to look at the optics, the number and size of imaging chips (3 is usually better than 1) and stuff like signal to noise ratios but that is getting in too deep for most people. There were a number of posts on here a few months ago asking all types of questions about the real deep technical stuff and I think for most users there is no need to know all that information. That is a good camcorder, I don't own one myself so I can't comment on individual makes.
