Default Rendering a clip out of a movie

Hi, I wonder if anyone can help me,

I am using Sony vegas 8 and I have been able to render clips out of movies that I want, for some reason now if I take a the clip I want to render out of the movie and highlight it, when I go to render the clip it renders the whole movie when I only want the clip.

I have been able to do it in the past, so I don't know if I have changed a setting somewhere.

    Can anyone help?

To render a selection only, you need to (a) make a selection and (b) tell Vegas to render selection only.
    (a) Mark your selection. Drag along the top of the timeline to create a highlighted selection. You'll see yellow triangles marking the in and out points. You can move these for fine tuning.
you can mark the in and out points on the timeline by hitting the I and O keys at appropriate places.
OR if the section you want to render coincides EXACTLY with an event on the timeline, just double-click that event.
    (b) When you render, on the "Render As" dialog place a tick in the"Render loop region only" box.
