A mate was a bit lost in creating videos for her MP3 player (yes, it has a video screen), So I wrote a quick little guide for her.

a few things.
Why are you telling people to download the radium codec, when lame is available now? The radium one is completely illegal, while the lame one if of dubious legality, and far better.
And the iriver, is 10fps the best it can do? Does it do vbr? surely that bitrate's way too high, given that 512*384 films look fine @ 700-ish kbps?
They look pretty decent, the wee irivers, and i wouldn't expect great video playback, but if that's the best they can do, i'd be better off getting the next one down.

An important step was missed from the "Converting video to play on a Iriver H320" tutorial which causes the video playback at less than 10 frames a second (looks jerky) on the H series players.
When setting up the XViD configuration in Virtual Dub goto the XViD configuration->Advanced Options dialog and set the motion search precision to 0. This results in lower movie quality but at least the movie plays back at the correct speed.
also, i noticed just there that you chose nearest neighbour for the resizing. I know it's a small screen, but bicubic looks better.
