Default .CPI & .MTS file extensions

    Hello,

I am very new to this game. I recently did a shoot and now I am trying to get the data of my camera (Canon Vixia HF S10). The camera came with software (ImageMixer 3 SE Ver.5 "Transfer Utility"). Which does pretty much nothing. I can't even get it to start up.

Is there a better way to pull these files of the canon and on to a PC or Mac?

I forgot to mention, I can pull the raw file off (which is the .mts file) but I can't play it or open it with Final Cut Express.

    Any guidance will be appreciated.

    Thank you,

Simply connect the camcorder to the Mac and use the "Log and Capture" process. Then, to edit on the timeline, export as a "Quick Time Conversion" using the Apple Intemediate Codec.
