Default Whats the best output for AVCHD on DVD?

    Hi

Sorry to post what is probably a basic question but i am very new to AVCHD format and struggling to find a suitable final format for my footage.

I have a Canon HF200 camcorder. If i record my footage in AVCHD (Canon setting 1920 x 1080 - MXF). What is the best way to burn / view this on a regular DVD?

I have Sony Vegas 8.0c and Pinnacle 11 plus software to use.

    Cheers Ally.

DVD is a standard, so to guarantee that a DVD plays on a DVD player you would have to use the standard settings to create the DVD.

    Marc,

Thanks for the reply. Will i loose the HD quality?

Secondly if i want to save the footage to a memory stick and view via my PS3 what would be the best format to save my project in?

    Cheers Ally.

It will not be in Standard Definition once you author a DVD. The PS3 can play AVCHD footage, so I would assume that the optimal output would be to match the settinsg of your input video.
