I used to make videos on Pinnacle 8, 9 & 11 but wanted a more creative editing software so I now have Sony Vegas Pro 8.0C. Awsome looking bit of kit but quite a jump from Pinnacle so now a little confused with all the settings so looking for some advice, pointers and anything else.
I have a Canon HF200 camcorder and recorded a some very small bits of footage. I have set the Canon to record at its best setting - MXP: 1920x1080, 24Mbps. The recorded files end in .mts
I have located the files and can get them into SV8 and edited them no problem.
I want to be able to save the files in HD and view them via my PS3 to my 1080p HD TV. Not looking to burn them to disc as yet. I'll save that for another day.
So what i am after is some help as to the intial settings i should consider when starting the new project (file -> properties tab) and what settings i should have when saving / rendering (file -> render as..).
I am in the UK so settings will be for PAL.
I have managed to do this once but unfortunately there was no sound. Great quality footage though. Any advice greatly appraicated.
