I have been editing my own material on and off for the past 7 years. Initially I purchased Pinnacle DV500 with Premier 6.5 which I sold last year and purchased Pinnacle Studio 12 Ultimate.
Next week I am launching my new venture and the services include editing home videos (kids, holidays, famly occassions etc.), conversion of video & cine to DVD adding menu's, chaptering and titles. Plus there will be a host of other services.
My current hardware is:
- HP Pavillion Media Centre 7670
- Asus P5BW-LA motherboard
- Q6600 Intel CPU upgraded from the original
- 4GB upgraded from the original 2GB
- Windows Vista Home Premium 32bit
- ATI Radeon x1650 SE graphics card running 2 monitors - HP w1907v & Compaq TFT8020
I use a Canopus ADVC 55 for analogue to digital conversation capturing on studio 12 as DV.
Some issue I have is sync loss and very slow rendering.
I know that I will have to invest in a solution which I plan for in about 3-4 months. I just need to get through this period to prove the business. In the mean time should I look to modify any component to give me better performance?
Also, I am planning for the new solution now and sitting on the fence with Premier Pro CS4 (PC Based) vs. Final Cut Studio 2.
Your help, guidance and advice will be much appreciated.
Thank you in advance.
