    Default Windows reverts to NTSC

Hi. Trying to capture video, but windows settings (available on most capture/edit programs on the capture screen) show that the capture format is NTSC.

I change this to PAL, but when closing the dialog and opening it again, it's showing NTSC again.

Any idea how this can be resolved?

    Thanking you.

    Shay.

It's a bit hard to tell really!
You are capturing what kind of video files from what kind of device?
Is the phantom device an NTSC device? If so then Windows will insist it knows best... and probably does!
If not using a device then exactly where are these files coming from and what are their properties?

Capturing PAL video from a PAL only VCR. I use "Belkin USB DVD Creator " between the video and my computer.

I used this device and VCR many times before. I remember an old version of ULead video editing software that allowed me to change to PAL, but I don't have it anymore, and cannot find any software that makes it stay in PAL mode.

    Many thanks.

Tried EditStudio and WindowsMovieMaker. FINALLY managed to change it with capture software from NCHsoftware. This dialog belongs to Windows, so every capture application uses it. For some reason except with the NCH, they all reverted back to NTSC.
    Thanks for your help
