Default Rendered Video HUGE File Vegas

Hey everyone. I dunno what has happened here but everytime I seem to render my video in Vegas in the best quality AVI as iv always done it seems to save as a HUGE file now. E.G I have a video that is 3:15 long an I rendered it as AVI an the file is 7.54 GB.
Other videos I have that are around the 3:15 mark that I have rendered exactly the same come out as around a 690 MB file.
Any reason why when I save my videos these days the size of the output video is HUGE. I dont think iv changed any settings. Still saving it the way I always have. Any help would be great.

    Thanks. Laurie.

Even though you say you havn't changed anything it looks like you are rendering to uncompressed avi rather tyhan DV.avi. Double check your settings.

When I save it I drop down to "Video For Windows (*.avi)" an iv always done that.

But yes your right the template says "Default Template (uncompressed)".

What template would have I changed it from ? I want to keep it at the hgighest quality like all my other videos were. They are the same quality, just not such a huge file.

Thanks heaps for your reply !

Save as type: Video for Windows (.avi)
    Save template: NTSC DV

Although in Australia that'll be the PAL template rather than NTSC.

Yes, Quite right. Depends on where in the world you are. Just get away from uncompressed.

i use the Xvid Codec if you go to custom for the template, it cuts down the video size by ALOT

Just make sure you save a dvsd avi as well if there's ANY chance you'll want to edit it in the future.
