Default DV camera on screen menus

Hi, wonder if anyone can help with this. I have a Canon md101 dv camera and i wanted to capture the onscreen menus that the camera presents in the viewfinder i.e. to explain how to use white balance setup. I have the TV out as ON and using a firewire cable connected to my pc but i never seem to see the camera menus on my pc screen so i can capture them.

    is it doable?

perhaps, read through your manual and it should give you some help there. what is your camera make and model?

hi, yip tried this by goign through the manual, the camera is a Canon MD101, under display set up it does say that you can set the TV SCREEN to ON and the on-screen displays will appear on the monitor but no joy so far. once i get it on the monitor i can capture it easily with my other software.
