Default What you guys use Vegas for?

Excuse me for this stupid question. I am a totally newbie to Sony Vegas. But I found it too "big" and a lit bit slow for video editing. What makes it special? or something could Vegas do while others could not?

    Hoping for your answers!

    Thanks in advance

Too big? Well once you use it and learn how to edit its just as fast as the others. I use it for everything from family stuff to weddings and other events.. I guess im not getting what you mean by to big..

I edit dicital tape recordings from my camerarecorder - I have tried to use vegas as a game ( boring ) and to do my accounts ( not good for that ).

As for big - yea big and hard and sexy.

As for slow - nope - I find vegas one of the smoothest editors to use.

    Maybe you mean this ?

" Vegas has won awards for major broadcasters using it, including Nightline with Ted Koppel.[3] Several film festival winners have used Vegas to cut their features.[4]

Vegas has been used by engineers and artists as diverse as the 5.1 surround mix for Yes, as well as recordings by Shania Twain, Rod Stewart, and Quiet Riot and music video/live recordings for Sheryl Crow. Vegas is also popular for documentary video production and mobile news reporting because of its ability to run on moderately powered computer systems. "
