Default Help identifying video edting program

While I was looking around youtube for video references, I stumbled upon these two videos:

    Video 1:
    Video 2:

And I thought I'd really like to learn how they did those parts with multiple video screens in an animated 3D layout. So far from what I've seen, I don't think my Sony Vegas can do that.

Also I noticed that these two videos, from two different game companies, use the same effects such as that space/star animated background and I figured that maybe they're using a premade template from an existing program.

    Any ideas?

it could be vegas.. but im guessing they used a comination of NLE, After effects, Some stock footage/back grounds, and of course game footage..

Christ - why would anyone want to emulate that rubbish anyway - lols.

After effects is my guess - that app tends to bring out the worst excesses of video making....

    I agree..lol
the first thing I look at is, do the effects stick out? if they do then it wasn't edited right.. it should never bring attention to itself and a lot of people that use after effects go way overboard. Thats why I tell people to use 1 or 2 transitions only.. These people that use 10 diff ones in a 3 minute video drive me crazy.. Just because you have that many dosen't mean you have to use them all... ok rant over..lmao

The quality of an edit is proportional to (1/ number of transitions used).

Barring tarty intros I tend to stick with straight cuts, stright cuts with a few secs of black, and fades when i get the cut wrong and cant do it right with available shots.
