Question timestamp on a jvc everio gz-mg 430 camcroder

Hi all, this is my first post, so hi to everyone and all that malarki!

I have a jvc everio gz-mg 430 on a try before you buy basis and just making sure that it fits my needs. However, I would like it to have a timestamp on video and images when i burn to dvd. Is this possible with this camera or do i need to use a piece of software to do this?

Any help would be gratefully received and sooner rather than later as I have to give the camera back soon if I don't want it!

    Many thanks, Chris.

If the camera cant do this you an easlily add any text in an editor.

But why? - they look really annoying and distracting. I only use, and only very rarely, when I have occasionally shot ' whitness fottage ' when it may all kick off with the rozzers on civil dis tpye gigs.

I don't use that camcorder but check it to see if it has a time/date display button and press it when you are recording. That's how it used to be done in the past or look in the menu for a Title option that allows you to record the time and date onto your video. If none of those are available then you can do it using software.
