The South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network

We did it in 2005/2006. We did it bigger in 2007/08, and now 2009 promises to be the breakout year for the UK's most exciting filmmaking competition, 2WEEKS 2MAKE IT!

Filmmakers and musicians are now invited to apply to compete to make a music video in two weeks, from start to finish, and the best one, as voted by both the public and panel of experts, wins a coveted prize. This year we will be awarding the winning team 1,000 towards the budget of a new video the winner will then make with a signed musical artist, plus a bevy of other prizes too!

The competition kicks off on the 8th April with an Industry Day in Sheffield, which will include a series of master-classes and seminars that will help better guide the participating filmmakers and musicians through the process, and help them get their films seen. And then, that night, the Launch event, where a simple random drawing of participating film teams and musicians decides who works with whom! From that point on, they've got 2WEEKS 2MAKE IT!

Sound good? Want to know more or how to apply? Then head over to The South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network and read all the detailed information on there, then download an application form (its very simple) and send us an example of your work!

But hurry - you've got to get us your applications and demos/showreels by the 20th March, 2009. Please note that if you are selected to participate, there will be a small administration fee to pay (about 25.00 + VAT). This fee will get you entry to the Industry Day, Launch event, the Awards Ceremony and 2W2MI:2009 Screening, a year's membership with the South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network and of course all the benefits of taking part in the competition. Click on the links above to find out more - you'll be glad you did!

Alright, filmmakers, get clicking, downloading, printing and burning! And for the third time in as many years, GOOD LUCK!!!! We look forward to your applications!

2WEEKS 2MAKE IT 2009 is organised by The South Yorkshire Filmmakers Network (The South Yorkshire Film Makers Network) and will also be part of this year's Sensoria Festival (Sensoria: Sheffield’s Festival of Music and Film. 24 - 30 April 2009).
