I've been looking for a wide-angle lens for the Sony SR11; the recommended one from Sony is rather expensive, so I'm trying to find alternatives if possible.
I managed to find the Sony VCL-HGE07A ($80) for about half the price of the recommended VCL-HG0737C ($150). Is there a reason for this? The stores include Amazon.com and B&H Photo.
Both lens claim to be "HD Certified" and are also 37mm, which I presume would fit on the camcorder.
I'm thinking the less expensive one may be cheaper in build, but Sony's site actually sells it for more than $200 - not sure what to think of that.
