Default WMV HD vs MOV HD renders in Vegas

I am working on a long-term serious project in Vegas Pro 8 and I editing in HD 1280x720 mode. I have experimented with rendering the work in WMV HD and Quicktime 7 HD. I am now of the opinion that Windows Media Video HD is far superior to a Quicktime 7 HD render...both in the quality of the video and the audio, at least when rendered in Vegas.

Mark W... consider yourself vindicated. You were correct (reference to another post many moons ago).

Now that I have a very large screen and good speakers I am noticing things before that slipped under the radar concerning Quicktime.

WMV HD files are, of course a bit larger than Quicktime, but the it is worth the difference.
Just thought I would get it off my chest.

I do recall test rendering some wmv, q time and h264 and wmv did look the best at similar bit rates.

wmv and h264 were close - wmv was a bit softer but 264 had more artifacts.
