    Default frustrated beginner

Just purchased canon hg20 and pixela image mixer 3 se version3.
Have downloaded 1st attempts to the above program and once edited cannot record to dvd so it is then playable on a dvd player.
WHAT AM I FAILING TO DO CORRECTLY?
Am using windows xp with 512Mb of ram with sony DVD RW DW-U18A drive.
I hope this is enough info for someone to help me.
    Thank you in anticipation.

I haven't used pixela image mixer 3 se version3, but at a guess it may not have any dvd burning facility on it. It looks like one of those cut down video editors you get bundled with a camcorder (if you're lucky) and a lot of the features are missing or disabled and you may need to purchase the full version to unlock dvd burning.

Is your computer able to work with video from the HG20 as you say you only have 512MB RAM? Running an OS and working with video on just 512MB RAM is really stretching it, I didn't know that was even possible.

Thanks again for your interest. You are right in that the video playback is very poor. More expense i suppose in upgrading the computer. It seems that there is never a point when everything works at its best. Is a new computer the best option?

See how much it will cost to get 2GB RAM fitted to your computer first and what processor is it using? More memory and a faster processor (dual core or core 2 duo) would be a good starting point. Defrag your hard disk if you haven't done it recently and disable any anti virus software, screensaver or any other bits and bobs that run automatically once your OS has started.

Well thank you again . You have been far more help in determining what i can/cant or should do, than ever i would have reading help pages or instruction manuals.
I will look into upgrading my computer first subject to costs of course and following your suggestions.
Again thank you for your interest and sound advice.
