    Default Need Suggestions

    Hi,
Am a bit new to camera's so wondering if you lot could help me. I'm looking for a relatively cheap way to record my driving using a bullet camera. As I'm still a student money isn't readily available. I'm looking for a way to have a camera on the dash and wondered if anyone here has done it before, and could recommend good products or make some suggestions.
    Have been looking at this,
    http : //ww w .dogcam sport.co.u k/at-1-wireless -helmet-cameras. htm
(sorry about the random spaces but it wouldn't allow me to give a url as this is my first post)
as it has a recording device. Other cameras don't seem to come with one and this is where the main cost seems to be.
I'm not looking for anything amazing, but a decent, re-watchable quality is preferred.

If anyone could give some advice or link me to a more related forum I would greatly appreciate it

    Duncan

I think you may be in danger of over engineering the problem myself.

Not too long ago I made a video shot through my windscreen and simply used a normal mini DV camera stuck to the window with a couple of old sat nav suction cups. One wasn't enough, two gave it stability and made a secure fix.

If funds really are that tight (I know students prefer to spend it all on booze!) I'd investigate something like that as an option.

EDIT - I've switched websites since I filmed it, so I'm just uploading to newer site so you can see results. 10 mins and I'll post the link.

    EDIT AGAIN - It's HERE

A small DV camera and gaffa tape works fine - bullet cams are for posers.

Yeh thats a fair point, didn't really think of that. Problem is that I'm starting from scratch, and am hoping to start hillclimbing and rally driving with a friend. The idea was to use the other camera for that as well and I don't currently have a mini DV camera either.
Unfortunately its my car that likes to drink!! That was a good vid, what resolution and fps did you use?

    Cheers for the replies though.

Get down your local secondhand shop - well under a hundred quid these days.

Just shot at normal speed and then sped up in post. Rendered out as web-safe WMV.
