Default Premiere/encore CS4 problem and solution

right before the new year I bought the CS4 master suite because I thought it would be a great tax write off and I really needed to learn premiere all over again. It has been years since i used it. The program loaded ok but encore and pro kept crashing over and over again. I called adobe support and they worked through the problem with me. Nothing worked. After talking the over the next few days with a second tier adobe support rep. He thought it might be the graphics card. My computer GC was not that great but I can could edit MXF files just fine with it. (my graphic card was the Nvidia 6150 LE) So the other day I purchased a high end card rather than agrue with adobe about returning the software. To make a long story short the new card worked! adobe is running fine. If anyone else has had this problem I just wanted to throw out my experience with it and maybe help that perosn not go through the 2 week ordeal I did..lol

Good to know, but it is possible that a driver update for your old card might have worked as well.

The adobe techs covered every avenue and the driver card update was one of the multitude of things that we updated.

Well I guess that some graphics cards are just not compatible, just like some DVD burners and capture devices. Great tip
