    Default Firewire card problems

I just got a firewire card. After I put it in the PC, Windows didn't recognize it. There doesn't seem to be a driver for it, because the default windows drivers are supposed to take care of it. However, when I plug the cable in from the card to the camcorder, the camcorder says 'DV in', but it won't let me capture anything, becuase the PC doesn't recognize the card. How can I fix this?

    what OS?

There's power getting to the card, and therefore to your camera. That's the only reason it knows it's plugged in.

I'm thinking it's just a bad card. I got another one (a name brand this time), and it works great!
