Default Sony HVR-V1E or Sony HDR FX1000e ?

Hey guys i'm looking to get either one of these cameras

Sony HVR-V1E or Sony HDR FX1000e.

I've done alot of research on them but still cant decide!

Is there any major differences between them am missing?

I've noticed the fx1000 doesnt have a xlr input either?

    any help would be appreciated!

There is one big differnence - the V1 ONLY shoots on progressive - the 1000 does interlace and progressive.

Dont believe all the bullshit ad men write about progrssive. For most people most of the time interlace is best.

25p shooting needs to be done skillfully or it can be poor. Interalce shooting is more forgiving to motion and pans.

I am sure the future is progressive but only when it is 50p - some pro cameras are offering this.

Tripods - I just bought a pair of Libec LS-38's from Creative video, and for the money they're good value. At the risk of sounding like an advert for Creative, take a look.

    Default Sony hvr v1e

    Hi Melvin

I think Mark may be thinking of another model because I use a HVR V1E which shoots in both interlace mode and progressive scan. It works very well in both modes. I am surprised that you didn't see this when you did your initial research. You might regret it if you don't have XLR for audio.

Maybe this has come too late?

    Best regards

Hmmm - I stand corrected - I shouldnt spout on about specs really as i dont really take a huge amount of notice of such things.
