    Exclamation How to do widescreen in Adobe Pro CS3?

    I originally saved project in widescreen format; but when exported, got a regular 4:3...

    What kind of file did you export it as? did you check your export settings?

    it was .mov file and after editing i accidentally saved it as .avi

    in the premiere, i stretched it more(it was 4:3 originally) and saved...that's it, basically.

    the project should be saved as a .prproj So you accidentally exported it as an .AVI? if so that shouldnt matter, it would just be an extra version. If your project was set as widescreen and the pixel/aspect ratio is widescreen it should be widescreen.

    So it wasn't filmed in widescreen? then it will not look right exported as widescreen.

    won't look right, but will it be widescreen?
    people on youtube film in 4:3 and then somehow cut the top and bottom off and get 16:9...how could i do that, then?...

    Read up on pixel aspect ratio. Widescreen and 'regular' movies have EXACTLY the same dimensions. All that changes in the shape of the pixels. You editted in a widescreen project but your export format has 'forgotten' that the pixels should not be square.

    Add the 4:3 clips to a Widescreen project, then scale to fit.
