Default Advice on getting a new computer...

    Hi,
I am desperately in search of a new computer for editing (mainly), and I was wondering what is the best option I should go for. The new iMac is very tempting, with Intel Core 2 Duo 3.6 ghz, nvidia GeForce 8800 GS with 512MB, and 4 gig ram, and then maybe I could add another 8 gig.

The thing is I have always used windows, together with premier CS3, with which I have been having a lot of problems lately, specially as the size the project increases, premier gives me nightmare. I heard some of these problems are solved in CS4, but I also have heard a lot of good things about Final Cut Studio. So I dont know which one to go for.

My budget is around 2300 (so about 1500 for the computer, and the rest goes for the software). Any recommendations???

    Thank you
