I have a Canon HV30 camcorder and am trying to capture video to my PC. The captured video looks like it is playing in fast forward. Not sure if it is a dropped frame issue. I am using a firewire connection to the PC. Capture software used were Windows Movie Maker, Roxio and HDVSplit. Results are the same with each.
System Specs: Dell XPS 410, Intel 2 Quad Core Processor Q6600(2.4 GHz, 1066 FSB) with 8MBcache. 4GB DDR2 SDRAM at 667 MHz. 500 GByte hard drive about half full, recent defrag.
Operating System: Vista SP1 with recent updates.
1. Took camcorder and firewire cable to store and they were able to capture and playback HDV using a Mac.
2. Connected camcorder via firewire cable to XP machine and was able to capture and playback DV tape. System was not set up for HDV.
3. Took captured DV file to Vista machine(the one with problem) and was able to playback file with no issues.
Not sure what else to try. Would really appreciate some help with this.
