    Default Video Editing Programs

Hi there, I apologise if this is going to sound daft or has already been mentioned in another thread.

I have been looking for a really good video editing program, so far from trials I have really liked Sony Vegas. Unfortunately 400 is just ridiculous for something I am going to be using for fun and personal use.

Does anyone have any recommendations on really good programs that aren't as awfully priced? I don't mind paying for them but some places are just bad for cost.

As I said I really do like Vegas and would love to use it.

Do a search on Google for Adobe Premiere Elements, I don't know what the current version is, maybe 6 or 7 and it retails for about 70. Download a 30 day trial of it first and see if you like it.

Try the cut down version of Vegas, Platinum 9 works just like Vegas but with some bits missing.

400 is cheap for a full editing program(with DVD authoring), the a look at the prices of the others.

You might also want to check out the trial versions of:
    Corel VideoStudio ProX2
    Cyberlink Power Director 7
Pinnacle Studio 12 (?)...umm..sometimes can be a little buggy on some computer set ups.
Magix...............errr that's all I can think of right now.

I use the consumer version of Vegas, called Sony Vegas Movie Studio 9, which costs only US$54. You typically wouldn't need full blown Vegas for home use.

My rec is vegas or prem consumer versions - they are stripped down versions of proper editors.
