    Default controlling speed in motion settings

    Premier 6.5 Question. I have a clip (in the motion settings window) that moves across the screen horizontally, I want to control the speed. I have followed the manual, but the clip seems to jump in to a certain point - then goes slow - then speeds out. Any suggestion much appreciated.

    If you are looking for a graduated speed change across your clip then I'm afraid you'll be out of luck with Premiere.

    To do this you'll need either a plugin (Reelsmart Twixtor?) or After Effects to achieve this.

    Either that or slice you clip up into tiny chunks and apply manual speed changes at different settings, in Premiere.

    Thanks for the reply. I'm not looking for a graduated speed as in it decelerates or accelerates, I'm looking for a constant speed - just slowed down.

    Hoepfully it's the same in 6.5 as PPro. Put your clip on the timeline. Select it and right click. The speed adjustment dialogue is there. Set 50% for half speed etc. It should apply the speed setting across the entire clip on the timeline, adjusting the duration of the clip as necessary.

    Just guessing but possibly your problems are that the duration is trying to increase and the another clip is in the way.

    I think you want to move the clip accross the screen. Have you:

    a) checked the keyframes of you video. You need to key frame the start and end points only or the speed won't be uniform and;

    b) rendered the timeline?
